A young woman has shared a heartbreaking experience from her time working as a domestic staff in Saudi Arabia.
According to her, what was supposed to be a journey to find a better life abroad turned into a nightmare she will never forget.
She explained that one day, while carrying out her normal duties, tragedy struck in her boss’ house. Another maid in the home died suddenly. Instead of handling the situation properly, her boss ordered her to move the body into the toilet and remain there.
For the next three days, she was locked inside that small space with the lifeless body. With no food or clean water, she survived only by drinking from the toilet.
“The smell was unbearable. I could not eat, I could not sleep. I just sat there with tears in my eyes, wondering if I would ever make it out alive,” she said.
When her boss finally returned, she was released—but her nightmare did not end there. She was made to help wrap the body in plastic bags and dispose of it far from the house.
The experience, she said, has left scars that may never heal.
Her story is a painful reminder of what many African women go through while working abroad. In search of greener pastures, they often face abuse, inhumane treatment, and situations no human being should endure.
